Morning storm rolling in about 4am, we watched it come in and stayed in bed until 5am. Today after our morning ritual, coffee, reese, breakfast, we took off on a long 2 hour walk around the Playa Coronado loop. There is one main road that loops through the whole beach community so of course we decided to walk the whole thing as we were not sure if we could figure out the side roads yet.
After our walk we were off to La Chorrera again bound and determined to find our bank branch. The drive to La Chorrera is about 35 minutes – WE FOUND THE BANK BRANCH, did not conduct any business but wanted to see if it was there. We decided to walk around the Avenida de Americas, the main street, and check things out. Bought a Pineapple for $1.00 (a large pineapple) she did have small ones for 0.50 and medium ones for 0.75. Went to the Super Extra here also and bought Bananas for 0.07 each; Limes for 0.10 each; oranges for 0.07 each; 1/3 lb of green beans for 0.26; 1lb of ground beef for 0.50; 1 lb of stew beef for 1.48. Pretty good prices if you ask me. We stopped off at a local pizza joint called Leonardo’s, where they have a special every Monday thru Wednesday – a 12” 3 topping pizza for $3.99 (no typo). We headed home after lunch and arrived about 3:30pm.
After supper this night, Reese was barking at something she thought she saw, so the security guard came walking over to see if we were OK. (what we have noticed around here is that the dogs that folks own (not the strays) if they are barking either someone is driving or walking by, they never seem to bark for no reason which is good – just like Reese. Again we told the security guard we were OK. It is nice to see them looking out for us.
