Day 10 – Saturday (Sabado) – 10/8/2011 – Playa Coronado

The morning started off as usual, we still did not have internet, so that was annoying, I guess to a point.  So we decided to take a walk to the Cable & Wireless store to see if it was just my phone or the whole service.  Well, it was my phone, they said that I had consumed all of my data that was allowed (here’s the funny part, I have an unlimited data plan) yet they put a limit on my unlimited plan (scratch your head on that one).  OK she did say since I was a new customer that they do put a limit on things until my first billing cycle starts, in our case 10/15/2011.  While we were at the cell store looking to get the limit lifted, another couple was in there getting help on another issue, they were from Alaska.  They we passing through looking to determine what is the best area of Panama for them to settle into and maybe open a bar/restaurant.  The gal at the cell store once again came through, she convinced someone, somewhere, to lift my limit for me.  Now we have internet again.
We went to the electronics store down the hall of the mall and bought a new printer/scanner for our home office, that setup easily.  Now we need a desk, that will be next weeks mission.  Also, needed to stop at the mailboxes etc... to get my passport pictures taken as I need to renew.
When we arrived back home there seemed to be a couple more folks staying at their places for the weekend, one guy and gal was in and out so did not have a chance to say hello, remember it has only been us and the security guards for days.
Dinner was grand this evening, fresh shrimp & fresh veggies.  I bet you the whole dinner didn’t even cost $5.00 for both of us.
After dinner, it started to rain, and BOY DID IT.  This was a torrential rain that we have read about and folks talked about.  The rain came down for hours – good thing it didn’t go up!!!  The rain did cool off things nicely though so it was OK as we were in for the night anyways.  One thing I will say, Panama seems more like an early rise kind of country, and an early to bed kind of country.  This is not to say in Panama City, you can party all night long if you choose to but most things out this way in the interior of the country seem to shut down between 8-9pm. The sun rises at about 6:20am everyday like clock work, and sets everyday at 6:20pm or so like clock work.  Panama does not change any clocks, we are Eastern Standard Time at ALL times.  So for those of you that do not follow this, we are currently on Central Time, but once the USA changes their clocks in the fall we will be the same as Eastern Time.
