Day 21 – Wednesday (Miercoles) – 19/10/2011 – Playa Coronado

If you are old enough to remember the Beverly Hillbillies Show then you will appreciate this days blog.  Since we are beach community folks, going to the city is a big deal, as we are in flip flops and swimsuits most of the day.  Well Today was a special day, a trip into Panama City.  Anytime you do business in the city, banking, government bldgs. museums, etc.. you really should dress up a bit more than flip flops and swimsuits. So we loaded up our truck, got in our nice clothes, blue jeans for me, black slacks for the wife, and we hit the road just like the Clampitts did.  Our Ms. Jane was a beautiful Panamanian girl at the bank who helped us with our paperwork, we did not need the Mr. Dreysdale version today, that will be next time, although I have met him.

We needed to eat so of course why not have SUBWAY for lunch, Jarrod did!!! We each had a 6" inch Chicken Sub for $1.99 a piece.  We then had one more meeting with a land developer to go over their projects, this group has close ties to the President of Panama, Mr. Martinelli.

After our meetings were complete away we went back to our neck of the woods, but with one more stop at the Super Xtra shopping store to pick up groceries and the like, you know $28 worth of food for the week!!!  Not kidding, we bought 5 pounds of Hamburger for $2.50 and a pound of fish for $3.75, come on now are you kidding me.

Remember we like to buy and eat what then locals do, forget those American Brands, overpriced and probably not as good for you.  We only buy local if we can and the produce is bar-none.
