Day 18 – Sunday (Domingo) – 10/16/2011 – Playa Coronado

Buenas Tardes, today was a relax day as we were pretty busy yesterday with our 2 events.  So we decided to take a walk on a couple of side streets for the first time.  We first headed down Calle Las Fincas.  This is a pretty secluded road as we discovered, yet there was some good picture taking as you can see.  First up Mr. Ed.

Mr. Ed was pretty cool, he was just hanging out by the road.  Around a few more corners in the wilderness we came across some goats, one was gathering her kid to get back in the grass area while the rest were just hanging out with their friend Mr Horse.

We were able to pass without incident - aka being attacked by the mother goat.  We came across another horse just grazing.

Next up a bamboo tree, we have never seen one of these close up before, it was amazing, plus the strength of the bamboo seemed unbreakable (yes I tried).

We continued on through in a loop and it took about an hour.  We were not attacked by anything which made us happy, who knows what was down this road as we only passed 2 houses and a bunch of animals, thank goodness for fences.

The other side road I spoke about at the beginning of this blog, was just an uneventful walk through a neighborhood with houses, no drama here.

On the return walk home we did pick some Limons off a tree in the neighborhood, these grow everywhere.  Yes I did say Limons, not limes, not lemons, but Limons (we understand that they are a combination fruit of lemon and lime - who knew).  They are delicious.  We also learned about coconuts today, the big orange/brown ones that we are all used to seeing in real life consist of the coconut water and the coconut meat, I didn't get any of these yet because they grow pretty high up.  BUT, I was able to get some smaller green coconuts that you do not eat the meat but you do drink the coconut water (in its shell it is water in its most purest form.  Here are some pics of me hacking away and pouring the water out.  By the way, it was awesome!!!!1  and we are going to have some tonight mixed with - you guessed it RUM.
