Day 12 – Monday (Lunes) – 10/10/2011 – Playa Coronado

First order of business today after our morning ritual is to bring all sorts of documents to Union Fenosa, the Electric Company (they have a booth at the Rey’s Grocery Store) as we needed to put the electric in our name.  The developer we purchased the place from had a letter to Union Fenosa, plus I needed my passport, and a copy of our contract that we actually owned the place (I did not have copies so I had to go next store to the Chino guy and he made 4 copies for me for 0.35).  Back to the Union Fenosa booth and get the electric switched over.  This was a good experience also, as they did not speak very good, if any, English, and we do not speak Spanish – but wait – my new phone has an APP for that, I downloaded the night before a talk translation app for free from the app store.  What you do is speak into the phone in English and it will translate it to the language you choose, in this case Spanish.  So I said what I needed and once the phone translated it I showed the phone to the girl and she read it and knew exactly what was needed.  Now that is awesome and powerful technology.
Today was also the first day we started to take pictures of everything we could in the Playa Coronado area, these pictures will be uploaded later this week for all to see – stay tuned.
So after dinner, but before popcorn, the power went out (only the 2nd time this has happened since we lived here) but this time it was off for hours.  BUT, we were still able to light our gas stove with a bic lighter, make popcorn, and enjoy it with candles going.  Then off to bed and at some point the power came back on.
