Day 283 Wednesday (Miercoles) - Panama City
Boxing sensation, Roberto Duran calls Panama City his home. Duran is a native of Panama and during the late 70's and 80's he was one of the greatest boxers, holding many different weight category titles. The funny thing about Duran, as the story is told, he liked his liquor, before and after fights. But his quick hands and hard as rock punches made him a wrecking ball to try to beat. And as we all remember, if you followed boxing, Duran called NO MAS when he called it quits against Sugar Ray Leonard after the 8th round of their bout on November 25, 1980. Here is a statue in Roberto's honor in a part of Panama City called, El Congrejo. Duran also has a restaurant and has started up a boxing school.
