Day 76 Wednesday (Miercoles) - Panama City

Today was dress-up day in the city. You know, long pants (aka blue jeans) and a nice shirt as we had some banking business to attend to.  Always a joy visiting my favorite gals at the bank, they take really good care of you.  Remember if you want or need to open an account in Panama you just have to follow the rules to a T and be patient, as it can and will take a long time. BUT they are only looking out for your interests and their interests.  Banking is very regulated here in Panama and they DO NOT want the money laundering reputation any longer, that is why it is so difficult at times to open an account as a foreigner, they just want to know who the heck you are.

Then off to the ex-pat shopping hangout, PriceSmart.  PriceSmart is like a Costco or BJ's Wholesale, buy in bulk and supposedly save money.  Now I know you can save money but it all depends on what you buy.  There is a $30 annual membership fee for PriceSmart and the prices seemed OK, but to the Panama Man and Woman, not worth the savings to drive all the way into the city from the beaches.  Just our opinion.

Also took a look at one of the high risers that is finishing up, a place called Park Loft. The 36 story building is almost ready for delivery and I know someone who has the penthouse (aka top floor) for sale once delivered, you guessed it Re/Max Beaches & City!.  Email the Panama Man at snrfaust@gmail.com for more information on this hot property that should be available for sale later in 2012.

Chow for now.
