HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012

Day 94 Sunday (Domingo) - Panama City

At about 11:55pm on New Years Eve, all hell broke loose here in Panama City.  In every conceivable direction there were fireworks heading to the sky. Large explosions, beautiful colors, it was a beautiful thing.  We started out by heading to the Wakiki Cafe for a nightcap, but when we arrived at this 24 hour cafe, IT WAS CLOSED.  Not deterred, we continued on our trek around the neighborhood and wished as many folks as we could Feliz Ano then headed back to the condo.  Enjoy the pics and our firework video

God Bless and Have a great 2012!

New Year's Eve in Panama

Day 93 Saturday (Sabado) - Panama City

A lot of noise around the city tonight. I think every person here has some type of explosive device. It makes for a party atmosphere for sure.  Quick little New Year's Eve picture of the Panama Man and Panama Woman, then off we go to Wakiki's Cafe for the New Year's Eve nightcap.  Take note going out at 10pm, I thought I was too old for this %^#$$%@#$%@#

Flame Juggling Today

Day 92 Friday (Viernes) - Panama City

OK, so you get to see many odd and unusual things as you walk around major cities in the world, Panama City is no exception. A regular juggler yesterday and today a flame throwing juggler. Life is good.

McDonald's Delivery guy got in my shot.

This is where we ate supper. Leonardo's has good, not great, but real good pizza for Panama. 3 topping, 12" pie with a soda for $3.79? Well OK inside the actual price was $4.39 but come on, that is a great price for a 12" with a soda.

Day 90 Wednesday (Miercoles) - Panama City

Hump day! 3 days out until the big year end parties. Who among you can and will be awake when 2012 comes in?

We kept it low key today, spent some time with friends last night for dinner as they are gearing up for the Overseas Radio Network. This couple will each be hosting their own shows, one on Thursdays from 4-6pm, the other on Sundays from 7-8pm.

The Overseas Radio Network is a great collection of folks who have moved overseas and want to share their experiences and expertise with others who would also like to take the plunge but are sitting on the fence due to a lack of How, What, and Where do I begin.  Try it out by clicking on the Banner on our own Blog page.

Balloon parade on Cinta Costera

Day 88 Monday (Lunes) - Panama City

Balloon parade on Cinta Costera

Spider Man floats down a New York avenue in a Balloon Parade similar to the one coming to Panama on the day after Christmas.

Many favorite superheroes and cartoon characters will fly high above the Bay of Panama in the shape of giant inflatable balloons. The famous Balloon Parade that has delighted cities like New York, San Francisco and Chicago will take a turn for a tropical destination to bring a smile to the faces of children in Panama City along the Cinta Costera.

Nearly 100 Cartoon characters like hello Kitty, Popeye, the Smurfs, Spongebob Squarepants and a very tropical Santa Clause will drift high in the sky, some more than 15 feet in length, through the side streets along the Cinta Costera.

The big event, brought to Panama and produced by ShowPro, will feature 500 actors and musicians to brighten up the occasion. This unique opportunity for children and photographers alike is free.

Merry Christmas from Panama 2011

Day 87 Sunday (Domingo) - Panama City

Today's blog will look at the traditional Panama bread that every household will have during the day today on Christmas called Rosca de Navidad all the supermarkets are full of this Christmas bread with almond. The price of the bread is $4.23/kg or just a little over 2 lbs.  O yes, it is very delicious to boot.

But of course we have to add a picture of Santa first.

Day 85 Friday (Viernes) 23 Diciembre 2011

2 Days before Christmas, let's talk coupons and deals. By now we are sure you have heard about Groupon whereever you live, well you guessed it, Panama has a version.

The Panama Woman just loves a good deal. For instance how does a $187 facial sound for only $65? I agree, outstanding. Or a full tour of Panama city, 4 hours for $15?  Deal after deal.
